Growing The Untouchable Tree
An Exhibition of Watercolors & Oil Paintings by Peter C. Stone
Exhibit runs from: May 3rd to June 1st 2010
Opening Reception and Book-Signing: Sunday, May 16th, from 2 to 4 pm.
Artist, botanist, anthropologist, and dreamer, Peter C. Stone’s lushly textured paintings enfold all of the things which affect us profoundly and personally. They are also part of his latest visually glorious book, The Untouchable Tree, An Illustrated Guide to Earthly Wisdom & Arboreal Delights (Skyhorse, 2008), that explores the language of symbolism and the wisdom of indigenous traditions in the context of common North American trees.
Appealing to the layman, average gardener, or practiced horticulturalist, the book’s magic and thorough research will interest and stimulate artists and scientists, children and adults. It has been hailed as “Brilliant! Beautiful! A powerful vision that will nurture our abilities to think creatively and dream a peaceful sustainable world into being.” (John Perkins, New York Times bestseller author of The Secret History of the American Empire) “Peter Stone sees from the heart, through the eyes of a shaman,” says author Llyn Roberts (Shamanic Reiki). “He invites us to do the same.”
