"Romantic Places" By John DeVito

Meet the artist John DeVito and enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres at the opening reception of our new art exhibit.

John DeVito is an engaging painter of beautiful places. He aims to bring the viewer to not only the place and time of the painting but also seeks to evoke the sense of being there. He transmits his sense of wonder and the beauty of the landscape through the brushstrokes and the source of light.

John works from the photographs he has taken on his travels. He paints using oils on canvas or linen.

John has a B.F.A. in theatre arts from Hofstra University. He has been involved in all facets of the business of stagecraft. He began to seriously paint again in 2003. He has been a member of the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition in Red Hook, Brooklyn and is currently an Artist Member of the Salmagundi Club in NYC. His website is currently under construction.
