Environmental Advocacy
Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes.
~ Maggie Kuhn
The mission of the Public Policy Advocacy Committee of Audubon Greenwich is to educate and to motivate the Audubon community to actively support public policy positions that advance the Audubon mission. To this end, the committee aims:
- to keep the board of director of Audubon Greenwich apprised of public policy issues bearing on the Audubon Greenwich mission and to recommend positions for the board's endorsement;
- to work closely with the Audubon Connecticut state office to advance Audubon's public policy agenda for Connecticut;
- to work with other Audubon Greenwich committees to identify and build on policy concerns relevant to their agendas;
- to foster networking among local environmental organizations in Greenwich and Stamford and work with them on issues of common concern;
- to maintain and expand an activist rapid response network to support our state and local public policy agendas;
- to develop and use an array of means to educate the community on public policy issues.
