Audubon Greenwich Nature Day Camps

Summer 2012

Audubon’s 290-acre sanctuary is an ideal place for children entering grades K through 9 to develop an appreciation for and understanding of the environment. Join us for seven fun-filled weeks of hands-on, educational hikes, games, activities and crafts!

Seven one-week camp sessions offered from: July 2nd–August 17th, 2012

Ages: Children and teens entering grades Kindergarten through 9th Grade. Note: Camps for students entering Grades 6-9 are offered during the weeks of July 2, July 16, July 30, & August 13* (*4-9 pm).

Camp Themes: For K-5 include Aquatic Adventures, Fine Feathered Friends, Operation Conservation, Creepy Crawlies, Surviving the Seasons, Twilight Investigations, and the Audubon Ecology & Evening Adventures (grades 6-9 only).

Hours: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm; Week of August 13-17 (Audubon Evening Adventures & Twilight Investigations) is an evening camp and runs from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm. There is no day camp during this week. *On Thursday night, campers entering grades 4 - 9 will have an overnight at the Audubon Center and get picked up on Friday at 9:30 am. Campers in grades K-3 will attend camp from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm for the entire week (Monday-Friday).

Group Sizes & Grouping: Maximum of 15 campers in each group. Groups are separated by age: K-1, 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, and 6-9 depending on the week.

Counselors & CIT’s: (Counselors-in-Training): Each week, there are four to five age groups. Each group has one Head Summer Naturalist and one Assistant Summer Naturalist. There will be 1 to 3 CIT’s working with each small group throughout the summer.

Cost: $315 for members; $350 for non-members (includes $35 annual family membership fee). $252 for the week of July 2–6 (no camp on July 4th). *Sorry, no sibling or multiple week discounts.

Registration begins March 1, 2012: Please print the Camp Registration Form below and FAX, mail or drop it off at Audubon Greenwich to complete the application. Registration is proced in the order received by mailed, fax or when it is received by Audubon staff.

Please note: Camp applications will be processed in the order they are received. Payment must be included with the application. For quicker processing, FAX your application with credit card information to 203-869-4437 (FAX) or bring them to the Nature Gift Shop and leave to the attention of the Camp Director. Once your application is processed you will be notified by email or mail, depending on the preference you indicated on the application.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Audubon Greenwich provides partial and full scholarships through donations from camp parents, local community organizations and through partnerships with the National Audubon Society. SUMMER CAMP VOLUNTEERS
A teen volunteer program (ages 15 - 18) enables high school students to gain camp experience. Volunteers must make a 2-week minimum commitment and attend a pre-camp training during the third week of June. Contact James Flynn at 203-869-5272 x224 to get involved with Audubon this summer.
