Summer Bird Count Statistics

Held on one day in mid-June, the scope of the Summer Bird Count is similar to the Christmas Bird Count in its count circle extent. Not only does it provide a good excuse to spend a day birding in warm weather, it also is a very important way for researchers to learn about the location of bird populations at that time of the year, the Summer Bird Count provides important information about the location of breeding birds. If you would like to join the bird count team for the Summer Count, please contact Ted Gilman at 203-869-5272 at ext. 230 for the counting date and teams that need assistance.
