The 4,000 acre White Memorial Preserve in Litchfield contains a variety of different habitats and wildlife not found in Greenwich. Pine Forests provide nesting areas for bird species such as Blackburnian Warbler, Red-Breasted Nuthatch and Ruffed Grouse while marshes and heavily vegetated ponds host Herons, Bitterns and Rails. This trip will be a special opportunity to view some of these species and the habitats that they call home.
Those interested in carpooling from Audubon Greenwich can meet us in the main center parking lot to leave at 8 AM.
Those interested in meeting us in Litchfield can meet us in the parking lot of the White Memorial Visitors Center at 9:15 AM (See map above)
