Volunteer Opportunities
Join the Audubon Team!
You can get involved with Audubon Greenwich in many ways that will satisfy your interests and help us provide our community with an outstanding resource for conservation and education. Opportunities are available for high school students (age 14 and older) and groups. Weekdays, weekends and/or evenings volunteer opportunities are available. You can volunteer according to your own availability. All volunteers also receive a discount in our Nature Store.
Teacher Naturalists—Our volunteer teachers work with school groups and other organizations to conduct programs and guide young explorers on our trails. Some experience working with elementary students a plus. Training is provided. Weekdays. Adults.
Citizen Scientists—Take part in different seasonal census and research projects year round such as Summer Bird Count, Christmas Bird Count, Summer Butterfly Count, Fall Hawk Watch Count, Project Feeder Watch, spring vernal pond surveys. Some natural history knowledge necessary. Adults and high school students.
Weekend Greeters—Be a host at our Kimberlin Nature Education Center. Greet visitors and answer questions, hand out trail maps and program brochures, answer phones, gather feedback. Weekends. Adults.
Exhibit Curators—Interact with users and help maintain the educational exhibits in the Kimberlin Nature Education Center evaluate their effectiveness, develop new displays. Weekends. Adults and high school students.
Nature Store Assistant—Process sales, assist customers, receive inventory, set up merchandise displays.. Weekdays and weekends. Adults and high school students
Trail Tamers—Assist our land caretakers with trail upkeep, control of invasive plants, light carpentry, footbridge repair, litter removal. Weekdays. Adults, high school students and groups
Wild Side Gardeners—Help us maintain the special wildlife gardens around the Kimberlin Education Center. Landscaped areas for butterflies, hummingbirds, songbirds and other wildlife will need weeding and watering. Gardening knowledge a plus. Weekdays. Adults, high school students and groups.
Photographer—We always need more good digital photographs of the natural beauty of our sanctuaries and of all the activities year-round. Use our camera or yours. Photography experience necessary. Weekdays, weekends, evenings. Adults and high school students.
Special events—Help at our spring and fall festivals and other occasional events. Adults and high school students.
Development Assistant—Help coordinate and staff special events and receptions, work on fundraising appeals, assist development staff with various projects. Weekdays, weekends, evenings. Adults.
Administrative Assistant—Help Audubon staff with office functions, including mailings, copying, phone calls, special projects. Weekdays.
